New Berlin, WI - Tekra has announced the introduction of their proprietary UV inkjet coated polycarbonate to their current JetView® polyester offering for UV inkjet printing.
UV inkjet is the fastest growing technology in the wide format digital printing market with its speed, efficient production, and compatibility with so many different substrates. However, often when an adhesive is applied over the UV ink, the adhesive bonds stronger to the ink, thus separating the ink from the substrate and damaging the print. Customers have presented this problem to Tekra, and Tekra has since successfully developed a coated solution.
Tekra’s JetView UV Inkjet Coated Polycarbonate shows significantly improved ink adhesion over the non-coated product. This coating can be applied to any polycarbonate finish and is soon to be released on polyester films. Printed samples have been thoroughly tested with great results on a variety of presses, including Oce’, Mimaki, and EFI.
