According to the Associated Press, DuPont and Dow have met all the regulatory requirements and will officially merge after the close of business on August 31, 2017. This is a complex "merger of equals" that will organize the various DuPont and Dow business units into three operating divisions with a stated goal of dividing into three separate and more focused companies over the next eighteen months. Tekra's supplier of polyester films, DuPont Teijin Films™ (now known as Mylar® Specialty Films), will become part of the Materials Sciences division of the new DowDuPont Company. DTF has had two polyester manufacturing facilities in the United States for many years. Although long a part of a large joint venture, DTF has operated generally autonomously and we expect that structure to continue during the DuPont/Dow merger with little impact on our supply chain.
Further updates will be supplied as information becomes available.
