When digital printers are tackling plastic substrate jobs, they turn to Tekra for product knowledge and specialized coatings to get the job done right the first time.
For a wide range of digital printing technologies and processes, whether HP Indigo, electrostatic, direct laser, or inkjet, Tekra’s digital printing substrates deliver optimal printing performance and have opened new digital revenue streams for former traditional printers.
It’s been a win-win proposition. It’s also a great demonstration of how at Tekra, vision is realized.
Achieving a desired level of print receptiveness on plastics is crucial. Digital printing substrates require the right coating to anchor inks; and Tekra has perfected coatings for HP Indigo, dry toner environments, thermal transfer systems, and UV and solvent inkjet technologies.
Our goal is for our customers to imagine the best print outcomes and be able to achieve them.
Don’t be afraid of a custom solution. It’s not unique for our customers to save money because of them. That’s exactly what a Tekra customer recently found when their project called for an entire film to be flood coated with a single color as a background. (The flood coat was just the first of a multiple step process the film would be exposed.) The Tekra team offered a solution and it worked like a dream. A custom coated film was prepared with a pre-color treatment to eliminate the need to print the background color. Both ink and press time savings were significant.
Nearly all of our “standard” digital printing solutions originated from custom projects. At Tekra, we take the time to get to know our customers’ business and what they’re trying to accomplish. We ask specific questions to understand equipment demands and print processes. The result is a product that is “spot on” for the intended application.
