3M™ Microfluidic Diagnostic Tapes are designed for use as lidding films in both PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and ELISA (enzyme-linked immunoassay) applications; PCR and ELISA tests are currently being used extensively for medical testing, including those done for COVID-19.
PCR tests basically amplify trace amounts of genetic material to mimic what normally happens in organisms during cell division. Byproducts of these amplification reactions are detectable and can be used to identify the presence of bacteria, parasites, fungi and viruses including COVID-19 in patients. 3M™ 9792R Microfluidic Diagnostic Tape is a 2.5 mil dead soft opaque aluminum backed, hydrophobic, pierceable acrylate adhesive single coated tape which is highly conformable. This tape adheres well to a variety of substrates while having a low level of extractables when exposed to a variety of solvents.
3M™ 9793R Microfluidic Diagnostic Tape is a 2 mil single sided clear polyolefin tape coated with a “neutral” acrylic-based adhesive. The tape provides high clarity, low auto-florescence, has a low level of extractables in a variety of solvents.
3M™ 9795R Microfluidic Diagnostic Tape is a 4 mil single side clear polypropylene tape coated with delayed tack, silicone adhesive tape. This tape provides high clarity, minimal to no auto-fluorescence, low extractables and high compatibility with PCR reactions. It is also non-tacky so it won’t stick to skin and gloves.
3M™ Microfluidic Diagnostic Tape 9964 is a 2.5 mil single coated polyester film coated with acrylate adhesive. The tape is transparent, non-hemolytic, non-toxic, has a low level of extractables and adheres well to a variety of substrates.
3M™ Microfluidic Diagnostic Tape 9965 is a 3.4 mil double coated white polyester film coated both sides with a hydrophobic acrylate adhesive. The tape is non-hemolytic, non-toxic, has low extractables while having the capability of adhering to a wide variety of substrates.
